Pictured is a unique Grade II listed former school house, steeped in history, dating back to circa 1812, with many original features, set in landscaped gardens, located in the heart of Veryan, on the Roseland Peninsula. Once the sales brochures were approved and printed, “The Old School House” was placed on the open market with H Tiddy in mid August and was sale agreed a month later in mid September.
Amidst the aura of uncertainty, here in Cornwall the sun is shining, both literally and metaphorically. We arrived back to work in 2019 to an unexpected surge in activity, whereby sales have exceeded our expectations to date. The market is most certainly more robust where buyers confidence is more positive. There is a general feeling that the UK leaving the EU will not have any impact on the housing market, especially whilst interest rates remain at all time lows and mortgage products remain competitive and affordable.
According to house sales data from the land registry, rightmove, zoopla, and including our own in depth local knowledge, H Tiddy are proud to announce that we sold over £15.36 million out of over £21.35 million worth of property that exchanged contracts in St Mawes in 2018. We are the most dominant agent with around 72% market share. There were only 3 competitors who sold properties in the village.
